Younes Ebnoutalib was over the moon after scoring in his Bundesliga debut match for Eintracht Frankfurt in a spectacular 3-3 draw with Borussia Dortmund whose striker Serhou Guirassy once again disappointed.

Ebnoutalib, 22, arrived in Frankfurt earlier in the week from second division Elversberg where he had scored a league leading 12 goals. He continued in this way on Friday night by netting the temporary 2-2 equalizer.

“I’m still a bit speechless; it’s a really, really amazing feeling to score a goal on my debut,” Ebnoutalib told Sky TV.

Coach Dino Toppmöller was full of praise for Ebnoutalib, whose goal was set up by another newcomer, Arnaud Kalimuendo.

“I think it is a very special day for him,” Toppmöller said.

“Younes immediately broke free. It’s not easy against the three giants (Dortmund defenders). He went where it hurts – and rewarded himself with a great goal. We are very satisfied.”

While Ebnoutalib was an instant hit, Guirassy was long substituted when the reached a turbulent climax in stoppage time where Frankfurt thought they had won it from Mahmoud Dahoud, only for Dortmund to salvage a point from Carney Chukwuemeka.

Guirassy was unable to finally improve his poor season tally of five goals and at the back caused the penalty that got Frankfurt back into the game for 1-1 mid-way through the first half.

‘He knows himself that he shouldn’t go there. It happens once in a blue moon, but it’s annoying in this situation because we had Frankfurt well under control,” defender Waldemar Anton said.

Coach Niko Kovac said defiantly that he will “continue to back him” and that “he will get out of the slump.”
