Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany – Defending ski jumping World Cup champion Nika Prevc delivered a commanding performance to claim victory in the opening event of the women’s Two Nights Tour on the large hill in Garmisch-Partenkirchen on Wednesday.
The Slovenian star soared to distances of 136.5 meters and 134.5 meters, accumulating 271.1 points to secure a convincing win. Germany’s Selina Freitag impressed the home crowd with a strong second place, scoring 248.0 points after jumps of 127 and 135.5 meters, finishing 23.1 points behind Prevc. Japan’s Nozomi Maruyama, the current World Cup leader, rounded out the podium in third.
Prevc and Maruyama have been the standout performers this season, each claiming five victories from the 11 events held so far, setting up an intense rivalry heading into the tour’s conclusion.
While the men’s Four Hills Tournament captivates audiences with its prestigious four stops, the women are contesting the Two Nights Tour across Garmisch-Partenkirchen and Oberstdorf. Originally dubbed the Silvester Tour and held in Austria and Slovenia, the event was rebranded for the 2023-24 season and relocated to Germany.
This edition is likely the final Two Nights Tour in its current format, with women set to join the full Four Hills Tournament starting in the 2026-27 season.
The action continues on New Year’s Day in Oberstdorf, where Prevc will aim to seal overall tour victory for the third consecutive time.
